Decorative Painting

As part of the total restructuring of an old Parisian 19th century house, the architect Serge Caillaud asked Atelier de Ricou to decorate all the rooms in the house.

The project was imagined as an architectural section-rendering in watercolor, with the decorative principle modulating from top to bottom and room to room, the whole made readable through a trip in the house’s glass elevator.

From the swimming pool in the basement to the attic workshop, all the rooms have been painted in specially created materials and textures: patinated bas-reliefs, matte paint on the walls, and various patina colors ranging from warm tones to blue earth tones.
